China's railway rail production has a new standard

From the mid-1950s to the early 1980s, the national organization has successively revised the rail standard for many times, and finally formulated the national standard gb2585-81 "technical conditions of 38-50 kg rail per meter for railway use", which has been applied for more than 20 years without major changes

in recent years, China's railway has developed towards high-speed and heavy haul, which puts forward higher requirements for the comprehensive performance of rails. At the same time, after years of technological innovation, such as metal materials, there is no obvious fatigue limit; Great changes have taken place in the variety, specification and brand of rail in China. The current variety standard is in the 1960s, and the technical condition standard is in the 1980s

after China's accession to the WTO, the export volume of automobile panels exceeded 10000 tons in 2017; It has become a qualified supplier of BMW and SAIC General Motors in Germany, eliminated tariff barriers, and allowed the products of foreign advanced rail manufacturers to enter the Chinese market, which will inevitably have an impact on domestic rail manufacturers with relatively backward equipment. New standards must be set to encourage domestic rail manufacturers to improve rail production and avoid the domestic high-end rail market being occupied by foreign rail manufacturers

as early as 1996, the relevant national departments included gb2585-81 standard in the revision plan, and determined that Panzhihua Iron and Steel Co., Ltd., together with the Institute of metallurgical industry information standards, the Academy of Sciences of the Ministry of Railways and other units, would be responsible for the drafting of the new standard, with the participation of Angang, Baotou Iron and steel, WISCO and other enterprises

in the revision of the standard, the drafting group collected, translated and compared international standards such as ISO, UIC, BS, JIS, and formed the draft of the national standard "hot rolled rail for railway" in September, 2002 in combination with China's resource characteristics and production level, as well as the development and use of railways. After repeated revisions by the competent departments of the industry and relevant enterprises, this standard was finally recognized by the National Standards Commission and officially announced on July 12 this year

the new standard basically covers all varieties of steel rails produced and used in China at present. Relevant experts of Pangang pointed out that the new standard refers to and absorbs the advanced and reasonable technical indicators of other countries in the world, which is of great significance to improve the quality of China's rail products, meet the great development of railways, and promote the export of China's rail products
